In 2009, The Annual John Jarrard Concert was pleased to have prolific English songwriter Roger Cook.
Roger Cook has written and produced numerous hit songs recorded by countless recording artists. Born in Bristol, England, but spending most of his professional songwriting career in Nashville, Tennessee, Roger has received many accolades, including five Ivor Novello awards.
Roger’s hits include “Talking In Your Sleep,” “Freedom Come Freedom Go,” “I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing,” “Long Cool Woman In a Black Dress,” and numerous other hits. His songs have been recorded by some of the greatest musicians of all time including Ray Charles, Elton John, Bing Crosby, Johnny Cash, Sammy Davis Jr., Crystal Gayle, Tom Jones, Bonnie Raitt and numerous others.
Roger is a member of the SODS (Society of Distinguished Songwriters) and is the only British songwriter ever to enter the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
