Originally from Gainesville, GA, John Driskell Hopkins met Zac Brown at an open-mic night in Atlanta over 10 years ago. At the time, John had played around the Atlanta area with his rock band and was producing artists mainly in the folk/singer-songwriter genre at his space in Atlanta’s 800 East Studios. It was at that studio where Zac recorded “Home Grown” which featured a number of songs on their debut album on Atlantic Records “The Foundation” which is now musical history.
A tremendous vocalist and bassist, John Driskell Hopkins (bass, vocals) is a member of the Zac Brown Band and is a co-writer of a number of the band’s songs. It’s an absolute honor to have John perform at the 2011 John Jarrard and Friends concert Friday night concert.
